Went to dinner at the beach. afterwards, we walked along the coast and looked in shops and such before arriving at PCH. We decided to go for a walk along the baech as well. We also decided to walk along the pier. This is a picture looking at the building on the end of the pier. The main light that I wanted to observe was the fact that the reflection of the light from the pier, bounces off the water below and is allowing for more light to be seen, even though it is not a direct source of where the light is coming from... if that makes sense. It made me think how much light was bouncing off the water, for example: If 100% of the light for the building and along the pier was hitting the water, was 70% of that light bouncing back? How much light was being absorbed by the ocean itself? Im not too sure how that works... but that was what was going through my head at that time. After looking at the picture, i realized that the light from the poles along the pier were very blurry, and hazy around the light. I know that when for and smoke are added to a stage, one can see the beams of light better than if the smoke were not there. I was curious to if the water vapor from the ocean also can have an effect on the light sources around it. Either way, I enjoy this pic, mostly because of the light that is bouncing off of the ocean below the pier. :)

I took this picture at The Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica when my boyfriend and I went on a date there. I thought it was such a pretty night, it was cold and crisp, not too big of crowds, and the lights added so much to the feel of the evening. We saw that all thye trees along the promenade were decporated beautifully with white lights. Although they are decorated like this all year long, It made me feel more festive for the holidays, which are just around the corner. These lights also continued around the corner to where an ice skating rink is set up for people to enjoy. The lights are strung over the ice like a canopy, and while skating, its as if you are in a winter wonderland. all the lights would just seem to blur together. After enjoying the ice skating rink, amnd all the people who were falling, running into the sides, or scooting along the sides, we went to the movies. This picture is looking down the 3rd Street Promenade towards the movie theatre. You can see the neon sign of the cinema to the right. These lights also made for a pleasant experience. The lights were well kept, and unlike some theatres, had all the letters in working order. The pink and blue of the sign mixed well with the white hanging from the trees. overall, the evening was a very good one, and the lights all contributed in adding to the experience as a whole. They made for a romantic and beautiful night.
